Waltz up the coast of Africa to the Nordic Fjords, and re-live the British Invasion as much-loved hits are spun inventively into the jazz canon, such as The Beatles, Kate Bush, Radiohead and Led Zeppelin. A transatlantic journey of ridiculously good music.

The Great British Songbook

The best of British jazz & blues from the likes of Shearing, Noble, Coward and Chaplin. Classic hits from Bush, Costello & The Beatles, to Radiohead, Winehouse and Bowie. All lovingly re-imagined into the jazz cannon with Simone's 'clever and unique stamp" (London Jazz News). Expect anecdotes of British legends, original compositions inspired during her time in the UK, and as always, Simone's irrepressible sense of humour!

Great American Everything

Simone pays homage to the hallowed ground of Berlin, Porter, Gershwin, Ellington, Lady Day and Ella, and extending the repertoire to include those later greats…Bernstein, Sondheim, Randy Newman, Elvis and quite possibly some Stevie Wonder, Beach Boys, Gloria Gaynor and where IS the line?! 

As always, delivered tastefully from a platform of genre-fluid jazz, and nearly always in the key of fun!

Birth of the Blues

From the traditional spirituals of the Deep South, to country, rock n roll and blues-feel standards, no one can resist the rhythmic lure and laughter of the blues! Simone and her band trace the historical highlights of the most influential genre of all time with toe-tapping, whiskey-toting, hip-swaying songs made famous by  the likes of Nina Simone, Johnny Cash, Bessie Smith, Ray Charles,  Amy Winehouse and Elvis Costello. Spiced up with Simone's originals and served with a saucy side of leave the kids at home for this one, it gets a little blue in places!

Jazz on Film

Simone pays homage to the classic films that popularized the jazz standards we know and love today, and unearths forgotten treasures from the Hollywood archives! Follow the journey of Jazz from the first talkie in 1927 right up to contemporary releases, via the music of Ellington, Gershwin, Porter & Berlin, as heard in Casablanca, When Harry Met Sally, Round Midnight and Miles Ahead! Songs made famous by Louis Armstrong, Frank Sinatra, Billy Holiday and Doris Day are but a few of the gems you'll re-discover in this nostalgic look at Jazz on Film!
